Satsuki Shibuya + Bridge & Burn Spring 2015 Collaboration

Portland based apparel brand, Bridge & Burn have collaborated with spiritual artist, Satsuki Shibuya on a series of mixed medium lifestyle portraits. 

"I feel that creating is who I am, as much as I am human or Japanese-American. It is a part of my existence," says painter, artist and spiritual thinker, Satsuki Shibuya.

Shibuya and Bridge & Burn create timeless, clean, and simple art and clothing respectively. The Portland brand gave Shibuya free creative flexibility to interpret their Spring 2015 line. “I thrive in situations where I am entrusted full creative freedom” says Shibuya. “With the philosophy of Bridge & Burn being about designing classic, timeless and understated pieces, it felt that aesthetic consciousness came from a similar place.” 

Shibuya currently works in Rancho Palos, California. She has also collaborated with Kinfolk Japan, San Francisco’s Little Paper Planes, and Los Angeles’ POKETO. Shibuya has only been working with watercolor medium for the last year and is currently showing her first solo exhibit, Into The Light, in Madrid, Spain till August 1st. 

"Now that I’ve come full circle and fully embrace that I view things from a different perspective... my heart is most at home when I am able to connect spiritually with the universe and our world," says Shibuya.
