Man Seriously Injured Following Stabbing in Downtown Portland

A man was seriously injured following a stabbing in downtown Portland on Friday night.
The stabbing took place under the Burnside Bridge near Naito Parkway.
The suspect left the area after the stabbing and has not been found.
The investigation is ongoing.
The Incident
On Friday, August 18, 2017, at 7:08 p.m., Central Precinct officers responded to the area under the Burnside Bridge near Naito Parkway on the report of a stabbing.
Officers arrived in the area and located a man with a stab wound. Officers provided the victim with medical aid until emergency medical personnel arrived on scene. The man was taken to an area hospital by ambulance with a life-threatening injury.
Preliminary information gathered during this investigation suggests there was a fight between several people at the time the victim was stabbed.
Officers continue to gather information about the stabbing and the suspect's description.
During the investigation, the area underneath the Burnside Bridge between Naito Parkway and the Willamette River is closed.
