One of the most violent rioters has been arrested and charged. The painful process for Portland Police to identify and trackdown those who caused hundreds of thousands in damages is ongoing.

On Tuesday, Portland Police Bureau detectives arrested 20-year-old Mateen Abdul Shaheed at an Estacada residence and booked him into the Multnomah County Jail.

Shaheed was booked into jail on six counts of Criminal Mischief in the First Degree and he will be arraigned on Wednesday.

Shaheed was involved in numerous acts of vandalism during a riot and protest over the November 10 weekend, including damaging vehicles at Broadway Toyota.

Detectives received an overwhelming number of tips from the community after photos of the then-unknown suspect to the Bureau's "CanYouIDMe" page, http://www.portlandoregon.gov/police/canyouidme/

The Bureau would like to thank members of the community and the media for their coverage of the events that led to Shaheed's identification and arrest.

Detectives were assisted by members of the US Marshals Oregon Fugitive Task Force and the US Forest Service.
