Suspect Escapes From Bar After Victim Locked Him in Following Robbery Attempt

A man broke out of the Sullivan’s Gulch Bar & Grill in Portland after he was locked in after the victim locked him in following an attempted robbery. 

The suspect was described as a dark-complected male, 35 to 40 years old, 6'1" tall, thin build, bald or shaved head, possible facial tattoos, wearing a dark-colored jacket and light-colored shorts. 

The Incident 

On Monday, June 12, at 1:29 a.m., North Precinct officers responded to the report of a robbery at the Sullivan's Gulch Bar & Grill, located at 2512 Northeast Broadway. 

Officers arrived in the area and contacted the victim who told police that the suspect was in the bar playing video poker and talking on the phone until the last customer left. The suspect then pushed his way behind the bar to demand money. The victim was able to get outside and lock the suspect inside the bar. As the victim was hiding, he heard the suspect break out the front glass and escape. 

Several officers, including a Canine Unit and Air Support, searched the neighborhood but did not locate the suspect.
