Wavy Boy Clothing, an urban apparel company started by a Portland native, is ready to make its mark on the Portland fashion scene with its new street wear line.

Wavy boy was started by Portland native and Jefferson High School graduate Bayo Arigbon. He describes his line of cloth as “urban streetwear at its finest” with items appropriate for any occasion.

Arigbon had a promising college basketball career, and went on to play professionally overseas, in countries like Qatar, Iceland, Chile, Israel, Spain, Paraguay and Ecuador. After his career ended, he decided to try a business venture outside of basketball, and Wavy Boy Clothing was born.

“The idea of a clothing line started while I was playing in Israel,” Arigbon said. “It wasn’t until then that I had seen a custom t-shirt store, although they have them at almost every mall in the United States. After purchasing a few shirts; I thought about how cool it would be to have my own designs, instead of selecting from a book. From there that vision materialized into Wavy Boy Clothing.“

Arigbon said his line is “confidence in clothing form.” Many of his designs pay tribute to his home city and state, with references to Oregon’s skyline and love of cycling.
