R Kelly
R&B singer R. Kelly has been charged with ten counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The news comes one day after two more women presented allegations that Kelly singled them out at a 1996 party.

They also come a month after the release of the documentary “Surviving R. Kelly” on Lifetime television.

According to media reports, Kelly has denied the allegations of sexual misconduct involving underage girls and women for decades.

Kelly’s Previous Allegations

In 2008, Kelly was acquitted by a jury of child pornography following a video which prosecutors claimed showed him have sex with a 13-year-old girl.

According to reports, Kelly could have faced 15 years in prison.

In 1993, Kelly faced allegations that he married 15-year-old Aaliyah.

Kelly, who was 27 at the time, was the lead songwriter and producer of Aaliyah’s 1994 album.

The two never confirmed the marriage.

Aaliyah later died in a plane crash in the Bahamas.

Kelly in Music

Despite numerous allegations over the years, Kelly is one of the top-selling recording artists in history.

He took home multiple Grammys, including for his top song “I Believe I Can Fly.”

Kelly rose to stardom in 1993 with the release of his first solo album “12 Play,” which included songs such as “Bump N’ Grind” and “Your Body’s Callin.”
