The Dress

The dress is a classic black shirtdress, featuring branded tab sleeves and a custom designed fabric lining the yoke, featuring the words "Compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience" repeated over and over again.

“My hope is the dress will serve as a simple backdrop for a larger discussion about women’s worth and the power of our choices as consumers in the fight against human trafficking,” says Nelson.

The dress will be made of Tencel, a material like rayon, but sustainably produced, resistant to wrinkling, and with a fluid quality.

Those interested can pledge to preorder The Freedom Dress™ as well as accessories handmade by the women of Jasper House Haiti, a ministry that educates and empowers women exiting the sex trade in Jacmel.
