Former Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, 67, has been sentenced to 23 years in prison for rape and sexual assault on Wednesday in New York.

Weinstein must also serve five years of post-release supervision and register as a sex offender.

As GoLocalProv reported back in February, Weinstein was found guilty of a criminal sexual act in the first degree and rape in the third degree.

The jury found him not guilty of the most serious charges against him  — predatory sexual assault — which carries a sentence of up to life in jail.

Weinstein faced a maximum possible sentence of 29 years.

Weinstein Found Guilty

According to the Washington Post, the jury determined that Weinstein forced a sex act on former production assistant Mimi Haleyi in 2006 and raped former actress Jessica Mann in 2013.
